I was just informed that Tony shot a doe last week Thursday (which would be December the 28th. Not knowing more then that, it adds to the total. Congratulations Tony. You are the man! - Lawrence

"Well, because of the warm weather our totals reflect a bad year. I passed on 11 total deer on Monday which is always the best day to kill deer due to the amount of hunters around the farm. But with the warm weather there was no way a deer could be processed the way we like to have it done. On Thursday, because of the pending cold front I made up my mind that if presented the opportunity to kill anything I would.
As usual late in the week it was only Todd, his buddy Mike (from Indiana), and myself that were hunting. We had been making some of the usual small drives to get the deer moving when I jumped a couple does from behind the Foxes and they crossed the road below Dean's house. Todd volunteered to do the walking for the next drive, Mike and I took up our positions. I guessed right and the two does ran right to me. It was a very clean kill and she only ran about 40 yards, conveniently toward the road." Brent McKee

"The week didn't start out very well. After the first two days I hadn't seen a deer! By Wednesday, I started to see an occasional Doe or spike buck. Then came Friday...
It was late Friday morning, December 1st, and I saw this nice size buck come running through the Laurel from my right. I scoped him as he was approaching me and I saw he had a nice rack. He paused for a second about a hundred yards in front of me, broadside. I had a clear, but tight shot, between a couple of large trees. I let my trusty Browning crack and knew I hit him. He only went about 70 yards before flopping over next to a road. I was glad because it made the drag VERY easy!

Above, I am holding the buck and also a picture of it on my tail gate. It was an 8 point that weighed 138 lbs. when field dressed. I hope everyone else gets this lucky!" Guy Hettinger

"The New Yorker strikes again! With time fading fast before the 4 week gun season, I decided to take this seven pointer. I have seen a couple of nice mature bucks including a really nice 9 point that came directly to my grunting before he bolted from my bleat to stop him."
"This guy came on a string to my grunt calls. In the morning twilight I could not size him up, so I let him walk. Twenty minutes later, he returned and followed my scent drag right under me. It was too good of an opportunity to pass up. I shot; he went sixty yards through a field where I watched him pile up. Man that's a good feeling when you don't have to track em!"

"For those of you who think NY is just one big city, think again! Check out this four and a half year old doe I harvested on November the 1st. I am hunting next to an orchard that is loaded with deer. I have seen as many as twenty-five in one morning, including six different bucks."
"This doe came running into the woods along with about sixteen other deer when a coyote was mousing nearby in the orchard. She stopped just short of my stand and looked back to make sure she was in the clear. Once settled, she slowly made her way directly under my stand. I let her get out about ten yards where I picked a spot and let the arrow fly. She dropped in her tracks and expired after only a few seconds."
If things go right, this will be only the first of many tails from New York. Good Luck Everyone!

"Ok, now I have a total of two ground hogs with my new bow....the problem? I lost another arrow! Man that hurts the budget. Here is the story....I put down my Miller Lite and gazed from the kitchen window. There he is, the cousin to my fallen nemisis, taunting me with his slow advances toward my yard and the tender clover there. I lept into action and grabbed my trusty Mathews Switchback XT. I moved diligently toward the back yard keeping my enemy in sight. Once I was close enough I raised my body slowly and drew the arrow tight to my cheek. Oh yeah, only thirty yards, no problem. Then he stood quickly and I let the arrow fly. It sailed true to it's mark and struck down that whistle pig. Of course he jumped up and ran into the woods with arrow. I guess he got the last laugh!"

For all to know....I have purchased a Mathews Switchback XT. It is a new hunting bow that I really love. I have already brought down my first animal on August 9th, 2006. What might it be? A god sized groundhog at 20 yds. He has been my nemesis for the past few months, seeing as I have shot several arrows at him and missed....losing several. Those arrows aren't cheap! I'll post a picture soon. Don't worry, this is just the first of many to come!
Mathews Bows: Many animals were harmed in the testing of this product!
